With greater than 20 years of PT experience, I am excited to be venturing into the world of virtual reality medical care. Over my 20+ years being a PT, I have spent all of it working in the orthopedic setting. Starting my career in sports medicine at the collegiate level and working with high athletes, I grew to enjoy empowering my patients with knowledge and the tools to allow them to grow not only as athletes, but an individuals as well. Although my main focus is injury recovery and prevention, I also consider education and enabling the patient a huge part of my job. I found very quickly that the interaction with my patients is the part of my job that I can’t live without. I became certified as a McKenzie therapist due to the high success rates, high patient satisfaction, and environs for empowering the patient. This remains my passion and I feel very strongly that virtual reality PT aligns very well with my focus. I use this quote from a mentor to guide my patient care “The patient’s desire to get better can not exceed their willingness to participate.” Its a team approach!
